Rugby World Cup: England’s Mako Vunipola and Jack Nowell out of opening matches

Mako Vunipola and Jack Nowell will miss the first two matches of England in the Rugby World Cup, coach Eddie Jones has verified.
While Nowell is still stepping up his recovery from an ankle injury, england prop Vunipola suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury during a month win over Ireland.
Neither guy featured in the 37-0 pummelling of Italy of England on Friday and after that the St James’ Park clash, Jones confessed that the set will play no role in England’s first two World Cup matches from Tonga and USA .
Asked if the set may be fit for England’s opener, Jones explained:”Mako definitely won’t function but we feel he might possibly be ideal for game three or game four in the pool stage.
“Jack Nowell has just obtained the last few days off so we’ve needed to hold him back a bit. He must be appropriate similar to Mako. Everyone else is in full training.”
